I’m Joe Mesi from Tonawanda, and I’m running to be your State Senator. They used to call me "Baby" Joe Mesi because I looked young. Now my opponents are saying I’m inexperienced, and I guess they have a point. I don't have a record of delivering higher taxes, job losses, and bloated state budgets. The truth is that their experience as career politicians is what’s wrong for Albany. I do have the experience of a fighter, and now I'm ready to fight for us!

Throughout my career, people told me that I was aiming too high—that I was too old to start boxing, too inexperienced to be an Olympian, not qualified enough to be champion, and that too much time had passed to get back in the ring. Time after time, I proved them wrong. I did make the U.S. Olympic team, and I was the number one contender in the world.
